Apollo Design is the world’s leading innovator, manufacturer and distributor of gobos. We have created over 2.5 million gobos since our establishment in 1992 and we maintain a collection of over 3,300 gobo patterns.

Custom gobos are the bedrock of Apollo Design and the dedication we have for producing custom patterns is fundamental to our company. Each gobo is unique and our commitment to the customer, attention to detail and focus on quality never waivers.

We have an equally strong commitment to helping the earth stay clean. Since 2007, our gobos have been produced using a clean laser manufacturing process that eliminates over 1 oz. of toxic chemical waste per gobo.

Gobos can be metal, glass or plastic. The choice of material is dependent upon budget, application, fixture, and pattern design.

Metal

Stainless Steel

The design of a metal stainless steel gobo is laser cut allowing light to shine through and project a white pattern on the surface. A color filter can be added to the fixture if a color is desired.

Metal gobos require “bridging” which are very small lines that connect the internal structure of letters and designs. If bridging is not added, enclosed areas such as the inside of the letter “O”, would fall out. It’s like carving a pumpkin.

Apollo stainless steel metal gobos are made from .008" stainless steel with a high level of nickel and chromium This type of steel produces a very durable gobo with finely detailed image and a long life.

Competitor’s gobos are made from .005" stainless steel with a high level carbon. The carbon begins to oxidize (rust) and breakdown faster than a gobo made from steel with nickel and chromium.

Check it out! A magnet requires carbon steel to stick. A magnet will not stick to a Apollo gobo. However, since competitor’s use carbon steel to make their gobos, it'll stick.

Aluminum

Metal gobos now available in Aluminum! Apollo has worked hard to coninually innovate in the gobo industy and we continue that tradition by offering all our metal patterns in aluminum. Aluminum Gobos By Apollo Design offer excellent heat disipation and and a longer life span than traditional stainless steel gobos.

Apollo Aluminum gobos are .016" and are available in all sizes dependent on the pattern's level of detail and gobo size.

SuperResolution^® Gobos

A SuperResolution^® gobo is a glass gobo that projects black & white or grayscale photographs or graphics with intricate detail.

• SuperResolution^&r gobos are designed to work best in metal pattern holders.
• Donuts are recommended for use with SuperResolution^® gobos. This creates a sharper image by blocking unwanted light.

ColourScenic^® Gobos

A ColourScenic^® gobo is a glass gobo that projects full color, specific colors or gradients of color with intricate detail.

ColourScenic^® gobos from our collection typically ship within 3 business days, depending upon availability. However, we regularly ship sooner than indicated.

PrintScenic^® Gobos

PrintScenic^® gobos can be a produced as a glass or plastic gobo that projects color photographs or graphics. They are designed for use in approved LED fixtures only and in short or temporary installations. Almost any of our patterns are available as a PrintScenic^® gobo.

The patent-pending multi-layer printing process enhances the color saturation to create a “true” opaque black, not “transparent” printer black.
